Greater Weatherly Ambulance Association 2004 Fund Drive

 

The Greater Weatherly Ambulance Association's membership drive will start the first week of May.

The rate is $10.00 per person 18 and over through June 30, at which time it increases to $20.00 per person.

In 2004 the Greater Weatherly Ambulance responded to 721 calls for the year, and participates in third party billing.  Third party billing is a program that provides reimbursement for ambulance services rendered to a patient.  Not all ambulance calls are reimbursable; however, insurance companies like Medicare, Medical Assistance, and other third party payers reimburse ambulance services for all, or a portion of the expenses related to emergency care and transportation.

If your healthcare insurance company does not reimburse for certain services on an ambulance call, you as a "subscriber" or "member" will not be charged anything further.  On the other hand, if a non-subscriber uses the ambulance he will be billed directly for services, except for Medicare, and will be responsible for the total amount of the bill.

The mailing you receive, which will be one per household, will include a card to be returned.  Please sign the names on the back of the form of the people to be covered by the membership(s) that are being paid for.  Children under the age of 18 (17 and younger), are covered by their parents membership.  Please list their ages next to their names.  A tear off receipt will be added to the card for you convenience.

A card no longer needs to be shown to the ambulance crew, because the names of the subscribers are in our computer system, and are given directly to the billing company at the end of the fund drive, and updated as necessary throughout the year.
