1983 Ford Mobile Medical, Type III Ambulance, Gas Engine. Sold in 1993 with 47,000 miles on it. This unit displayed the Pennsylvania Department of Health Voluntary Ambulance Service Certification Sticker (VASC). The Certification was run by the state from 1977-1990. 4th Unit in service from 1993-2001
1993 Ford Modular Ambulance by Marque Inc. Purchased new. Was traded for 2001 PL Custom Ambulance. Retired August 2001. 5th Unit in service from 1999-2004 1999 Ford Modular Ambulance by PL Custom. Purchased new. Sold to Palmerton Ambulance 2004. Retired by us 2004. Radio Identification was Luzerne Unit 47. In the 1990's Carbon County started the 911 System. The ID then changed to Carbon Unit 2060 series. The "60" series was reserved for all ambulances in each district. For example: 2001 thru 2009 is fire officers, "10" is engines. The "20" series is for aerial devices. The "30" series is tankers. The "40" series is brush and utility. The "50" series is rescues. The "60" series is ambulances.
